J. Gumbo's founder Billy Fox, Jr. learned to cook traditional
Cajun & Creole cuisine in his grandmother's kitchen as a boy growing
up in his native Louisiana.
Years later, working as a jockey riding Thoroughbreds at racetracks in Asia, Billy grew homesick for his family's home cooking. So he dusted off the old recipes, fine tuned them over the years, and today serves them up as the big, bold flavors of J. Gumbo's Down-Home Cajun Cookin'.
You've come a long way, baby.
Billy opened his first J. Gumbo's store on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. Today that dream has grown to a half-dozen stores in the Louisville area with more on the way. Want to learn more about J. Gumbo's? Contact us.
